HELP! PTA EVENTS NEEDS VOLUNTEERS Without volunteers we may have to cancel certain PTA activities. This wouldn't only take away some of SRS's great traditions, but would be devastating to our children and their families as well. Please remember that if you have committed to volunteer at an event, the event's chairperson is counting on you and will expect you there. If for some reason you cannot make it, please let that chairperson know as soon as possible so that they can make arrangements to fill your spot. The PTA will be putting together an email list to remind parents of the upcoming events and to remind them if they have volunteered for the event. If you have any ideas, or if you would like to participate, please contact one of the PTA southrangeschoolpta@gmail.com. |

| THE FOLLOWING SRS EVENTS ARE IN NEED OF VOLUNTEERS |
| ENRICHMENT VOLUNTEERS NEEDED! The Enrichment Program is an after school activity that runs on Wednesdays! Session I, March 7, 14, 21 (make-up date 28th) & Session II, April 4, 11, 18 (make-up date May 2nd). Our goal is to provide our children the opportunity to supplement and enrich their current educational experiences in a familiar and safe environment. These special & unique programs stimulate students to explore new horizons, expand creativity, experience different cultures, broaden their base knowledge, and increase repertoire of learned skills. Parents & volunteers from the community teach classes in such subjects as Baton Twirler, Karate, Crafts, Yoga. We need instructors as well as Parent helpers to assist the instructors. Class descriptions will be sent home February 13th. Classes are on a first come-first signed up basis. If you have a hobby and would like to teach SRS students, please contact: Erika Veduccio at srsenrichment@gmail.com |
| SOUTH RANGE SCHOOL VOLUNTEERS! SCHOOL volunteers provide that “extra pair of hands” for the busy classroom teachers. There is much to be done to support the efforts of both the teachers and the students as, together, they strive for fantastic learning. We are looking forward to the help of many people. There are opportunities to work in classrooms and there are things that can be done at home. Volunteer room tasks - duplicating, collating, stapling, laminating, book binding. We are willing to show you how all of this is done - no prior experience needed! Popcorn on Tuesday and Thursday - this takes about 2 hours in the morning. Room Parents - help with project in classroom, help at a party, help at school store, chaperon a field trip. The school board has updated their policies and regulations for school volunteers. A Volunteer Service Statement & Agreement form is to be signed by EVERY person in ANY volunteer capacity. This includes volunteers who come to school every week as well as people who only volunteer to come in to read a story, those who go on field trips with the classes, people who come in for class parties, etc. Every volunteer who comes into the school to help in any capacity needs to read the policy & sign the statement. We can accept both parents' signatures on the agreement if both parents are going to be volunteering. It's important to get the agreements signed as soon as possible. Please be specific & clear about how much or how little you would like to be in school volunteering. Orientation is scheduled for those who have signed up to volunteer or for those who are interested in volunteering but need more information. We hope that many of you will want to be volunteers. For further information, please call Christine Haswell, Volunteer Coordinator, at SRS on Tuesday or Thursdays (432-1219) or e-mail her at cwhaswell@comcast.net |
